Square Mile Coffee Roasters The deadline for entering your artwork for the UKBC diplomas is this Friday, get your designs in to Helen Ostle asap! :)

Joshua Furlow I'm a little confused, I saw probably quite few months ago the wikipedia entry for the infamous flat white, they describe it as a latte with little forth in a cups somewhat similar to a cappuccino mug, but reading all the news hype and articles of big coffee chains supplying this drink they describe it as being stronge...r than a latte, more like a cappuccino with a smaller layer of foam. Well as for lattes at the chains, well they can't really be called coffee, its so weak you can hardly taste it! My lattes are a weaker coffee with less flavour than a cappuccino, but strong enough that you can taste it. Can you clear my misunderstanding of the flat white up?

Square Mile Coffee Roasters
As you may know we are hosting the South East regional of the UK Barista Championship this year. We highly recommend competing (but then we would!), and as part of our involvement in the South East regional we are hosting a workshop about competition.
The aim of the workshop is to take some of the mystery away from comp...etition, help competitors understand what is expected of them and how to get the most out of it. We’ll cover the DOs and DON’Ts of competing and do our best to answer everyone’s questions. It should be a lot of fun, as well as being informative.
Two World Barista Champions will be on hand to give talks and answer questions – this is a great opportunity to tune up those performances.
Numbers will be limited, and only those who have signed up to compete in the regional event are guaranteed a space.
We’re working hard to make sure that the London/South East regional is a great experience for all involved, especially the baristas who compete. Competition is a great learning experience and if you’ve made it through a single round of the UBF then anything else should be easy!
Any questions then do please leave a comment or get in touch.
