Usually 11:30 or so. It starts around noon, but it is a casual low key event ( unofficial/you keep your own time if you want. If you even want one :) to have fun at and celebrate the New Year. Tradtional Fun!

Mark Just paid my "New Member" dues, and can't wait to start training with the club! Moving from Ohio to Clearwater in 10 days. My job moved to Mexico, so I figured its better to be unemployed in a warm climate! Ha! (any laws against living on the beach!?!) My "A" race is the Miami Half IM, want to go sub-5 (but need your help!) Thanks!!

Welcome! Looks like you won't make it down in time for New Years Day & Hair of the Dog, but try to make it down one Weds night to Tavern at Bayboro ( USF-St. Pete Campus). Group run is at 6 and then the Tavern afterwards for food & drink.

Roseann VonKaenel Moushon For my 17 yr old son, looking for starter road bike: Small-Medium frame size (fit a 54" specialized frame size) would like/prefer Shimano 105, or Tiagra Double....does anyone have one/suggestions/ideas?

Jesse Dougherty was wondering if there are any after work weekday training or show-n-go
rides? My schedule only gives Mon-Thurs evenings to ride. I know its
probably impossible with sun set at 5:30 these days but are there any
groups that ride around 4-6 weekdays out of St Pete (down town or
beach)

There are rides that leave from the USF-St. Pete campus at 4 PM and 5 PM during the week in the winter. They meet at the 3 way stop right in front of the Tavern at Bayboro & campus. I think that's 2nd St. S. & 6th Ave S? You'll see the cyclists if you go down there.

Mike Feldman

Mike Feldman Hi, I'm a triathlete in from Dallas, TX over this weekend. I was wondering if you are doing a group ride Saturday morning. If so, where can I meet you and when does it begin? Also, what local bike shop should I rent a road bike from? THANKS!

Yes there are group rides that go from North Shore Pool Parking Lot ( 901 N Shore Dr., St. Petersburg 33701. Where St. Anthony's Triathlon finishes) on Sat.. They start calling out group rides by Ave speed ( from 18 Ave to 26+ Ave) at 8:30 AM. You can't miss it you'll see all the bikes. Get there about 8:15. I know Outspokin Bicycles ( www.outspokin.net ) rents bikes. There might be others if anybody else wants to pipe in.
