Stone Document is a progressive - ambient - fusion trio project. Their sound is often compared to early Pink Floyd but the most often cited comparison is to progressive rock pioneers King Crimson and one of its late period spinoffs ProjeKCt 2. A contributing factor to this is the fact that Dennis and Mark are both students of King Crimson's Robert Fripp and his Guitar Craft approach to the instrument and Mike Roze has actually worked for the band as an engineer. The band has clearly been influenced at close range.
