Buena Vista University Athletic Training Program Samantha Narveson, a junior athletic training major from Chatfield, Minnesota has been awarded a summer internship through the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Samantha will be working with high school athletes in a variety of sporting activities and will be working under the direction of the UW-Whitewater Athle...tic Training staff. Congratulations to Samantha on being selected for this summer-long internship.
Buena Vista University Athletic Training Program Nolan Wright, a senior athletic training major, has been awarded an internship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama beginning in May 2010. Nolan will be participating in research with Dr. Glenn Flesig and will be focusing on working with the upper extremity during his time at the institute. Congratulations to Nolan!

Buena Vista University Athletic Training Program Alumni Notification: Jayke Vallette is currently a graduate assistant with the Men’s Soccer team at Iowa Lakes Community College. As well as assisting with the Men’s Soccer team he performs all Athletic Training responsibilities up until game days. He is currently studying for his Masters in Higher Education at Iowa State University.

Buena Vista University Athletic Training Program The Buena Vista Athletic Training Society (B.V.A.T.S) - our student athletic training organization - elected new officers for the 2010 school year. President: Jocelyn Kock, Vice President: Erin Williams, Treasurer: Melody Redding, Secretary: Samantha Narveson. Their term will begin Januray 1, 2010 and end December 31, ...2010. Thank you to the 2009 officers it was a great year.
Buena Vista University Athletic Training Program Debra works as a graduate student for Kansas State University Recreational Services. She is the athletic trainer for all intermural sports and recreational activities. A typical day consists of 6 football games and 2 soccer games, or 8 volleyball games, or 8 basketball games per hour each day! The athletic training facility in the lower level of Siebens Fieldhouse provides 2,600 square feet of space for hydrotherapy, electronic stimulation, ultrasound and rehabilitation for members of the athletics teams. The area includes three offices and a team physician's office.
