I love this... thick skin doesn't mean not taking note of what people say. It means taking note, making any necessary adjustments while still moving forward toward your goal.

Strategic Career Plan The phone may be the best way to establish and retain relationships with the most people. It is especially valuable in stamping the passion of your personal brand in the minds of those on the other end of that phone call. Get on the phone and watch what happens.

Hi David,
I think your video is a great reminder to us as we all get into more online and e-mail communications, to stop and smell the microphone. This morning I called two clients & left messages, and made a prospect call. I could have e-mailed, but to your point, it isn't the best business practice. Make that human contact. Listen for any clues that the other person is thrilled or unhappy. Build that relationship.

Great message and timely. dv

David,
Great advice! As usual, your insight adds value for all of us that follow you. Too many times we get caught up in the instantaneous electronic world and neglect the personal touch of a phone call. The suggestion about the dress is very important to your mindset as you make those calls and it transfers over in your voice as you transmit confidence.
