Katie Shelley Paulson My first grader has been begging to go to the Garbage Museum. Any chance you will ever have later hours so that kids can come after school?

Melissa

Melissa I had a very hard time finding the garbage museum when I visited. Are you able to put up signs to help guide visitors?

Melissa: Sorry to hear about that. We would have to work with the Town of Stratford and the state Department of Transportation (if Lordship Boulevard is, as we think, a state road), but that's a good idea and one we should pursue. In the meantime, would a link to a Mapquest-type map from our Web site have helped?

I used Mapquest directions but I am not familiar with the area and they were hard for me to follow. Maybe if you wrote your own directions that were more clear and included landmarks. When I stopped at a gas station for directions- the man who helped me said I was the second person that day he had helped find you. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.

Melissa: We want to make sure our directions are as clear as possible. Any specific suggestions you'd like to make would be greatly appreciated. We want you to come back!

Garbage Museum It's the home stretch for Connecticut's municipal elections, and for the next few weeks you'll see candidates for mayor and first selectman all over your town. When you meet one, make sure you tell him or her that he or she needs to help save the Garbage Museum.

I know Jim Miron supports the Garbage Museum!!! And as an 8th district council candidate in Stratford, I also support the Garbage Museum and will work to raise funds.

Garbage Museum Trash-o-saurus and everyone at the Garbage Museum wishes Christy well in her future endeavors. She's leaving us today. :-(

Debbie

Debbie We had a great time when we visited in July! I think we spent at least 1 hour watching the actual process upstairs from the viewing area - trucks dumping all the recycables, conveyor belts taking it to various points, the people checking, and the end results of compacted down recyclables.

Garbage Museum

Garbage Museum Would you like to join our team? Christy has informed us that she's leaving us soon, so we're looking for a new part-time educator. Do you like people? Do you care about the environment? Have you studied education or environmental sciences? Do you speak Spanish? If any of this sounds like you, drop an e-mail to crrainfo(at)crra.org and we'll tell you how to apply. Trash-o-saurus needs you!

Ah! I was all 'yes' until the 'speak Spanish' part. I keep telling my son how important it is to stick with Spanish, and this is a great example of why that's true.

Spanish isn't a requirement, but it's a plus.

Steve Trash

Steve Trash Hey Steve Trash here. I present a world class green magic show with stuff I've found in the trash. I'd be happy to donate a show (on a date I'm not already booked) to help you raise money for the garbage museum. Feel free to drop me a line. www.stevetrash.com

Welcome to the Official Steve Trash Website. That's right, you found it! Steve Trash is a man who will make you laugh until you get the hiccups, and teach you some pretty cool stuff at the same time - and this is his website.
