The Monroe County Historical Association, founded in 1921, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving Monroe County's rich history. We are headquartered in the the historic 1795 Stroud Mansion in Stroudsburg, PA.

Monroe County Historical Association The Dave Russell Memorial Christmas Concert was a great success. Thank you to the wonderful preformers for a job well done and for spreading holiday cheer. The sing-along finale was certainly enjoyed by all!

Monroe County Historical Association The Stroud Mansion is open today from 4-7 pm as part of downtown Stroudsburg's Night of Art, Song and Spirit. Stop by and visit our historic 1795 Mansion! The museum store will be open and you just may find the perfect present for the history buff in your life!

The Open House was scheduled for tomorrow (December 12th) and Monday, December 14th through December 22, 2009. The Monroe County Historical Association apologies for any inconveniences this unplanned situation may have caused.

Yes, there are African-American Civil War vets buried in Monroe County. We have information in our library (provided by the Veteran's Affairs and the Monroe County Archives). If you live locally, you are more than welcome to stop by and check out our files!

Thanks! I'll find More info, but they're looking for living relatives of black civil war vets buried in PA cemetaries to march at an upcomming event in Gettysburg to remember the contributions black soldiers made to the union victory. I think it would be awsome to have Monroe County represented. I'll find more info about the program, and see if I can stop by your archive and refer people to the people running the event
