Phil Brennan

Phil Brennan I would be interested in trying out white sugru as a model making material as well as an object hacking material.

Also, is there a way to mould it onto an object so that it does not stick to it and is removable? Like if I wrap my T-Mobile Pulse in cling film first so that I can make a removable sleeve or edge ring...

Hi Phil, yep cling film would work, and any object that you don't mind getting wet, you could use soapy water before you apply the sugru if you don't want it to stick, hope that helps!

Alain Plante

Alain Plante While I wait for Sugru to become available for purchase i have questions that may help me to to prepare my awesome hacks. I've done tons of hacks with Friendly Plastic and Shapelock and am quite eager to become a Sugru-guru so please tell me what it sticks to and doesn't stick to, and what release agent can be used whe...n you just want to use it to make a mold of an object.

sticks really well to aluminium, steel, glass, ceramics, acrylic, abs... as a release agent, the best thing we've found is soapy water

Ed Hallam

Ed Hallam I've been trying to attach a webcam to the top of my monitor - don't want to use something like superglue that will damage it, Sugru would be ideal.
When will it be available? Desperate

Jenny Owen

Jenny Owen do the sugru sachets say what colour the sugru inside is? This would be pretty useful information if I want to do multi-coloured repairs!

Alistair Stewart

Alistair Stewart My son has cerebral palsy and tends to drag the toe of his left foot wearing a hole in the sole of his shoe in 2-4 weeks. I'm sure I could patch it with Sugru if I had some.
When is the next batch due?

Thanks, I did know, but I hadn't thought of doing that. I have uploaded a pic of a pair of Clarks school shoes so you can see the problem. The smallest pack of Sugru should fix it and save us having to buy a new pair every month.

Matt Henton You can read my Sugru story here: http://blog.espares.co.uk/espares/2010/02/hack-things-better-with-sugru.html I think I might have become slightly obsessed with Sugru.

blog.espares.co.uk
Sugru is a really cool new product that I've been boring my colleagues about for a couple of months now. It's a silcone moulding clay/glue that you can shape to fit more or less anything. It sticks to most things, cures overnight and is flexible, durable and heat resistant. ...

Pascale Pretty

Pascale Pretty am so excited to discover this stuff - am always trying to hack my stuff - duck tape has been a favourite for years, but I can see my loyalty to such a faithful friend failing fast in the face of a new upstart!

how does it respond to cold and wet (as in, in the snow)? can see that would probably be pretty good at non... shattering/melting, but its the stickiness that usuallly the problem....

Hi Pascale, thanks for posting :) while you're moulding it, it's best to do that at normal indoor temps (20C or so) but then once it's cured, it's fine up to 180C and down to -50C, so snow / cold shouldn't cause a problem :)
