For three consecutive Saturday mornings this August, Park Avenue and connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park will again be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic. The seven-mile route will be open for all to walk, bike skate, run, play an……d enjoy. Come out and see New York in a whole new way!
By creating Summer Streets in 2008 the NYCDOT has developed a unique event which provides an extraordinary experience for locals and visitors, a shared space for physical activity. Summer Streets creates a car-free route which connects the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park, providing an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy their city by reclaiming the streets for recreation.
