Capture Summer Streets in photos! NY400 and Summer Streets have teamed up to offer free digital camera share while at Summer Streets! You can use one of our cameras while enjoying 6.9 miles of car-free streets. Your photos will be uploaded to flickr for viewing and sharing. For three consecutive Saturday mornings this August, Park Avenue and connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park will again be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic. The seven-mile route will be open for all to walk, bike skate, run, play an……d enjoy. Come out and see New York in a whole new way!
By creating Summer Streets in 2008 the NYCDOT has developed a unique event which provides an extraordinary experience for locals and visitors, a shared space for physical activity. Summer Streets creates a car-free route which connects the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park, providing an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy their city by reclaiming the streets for recreation.
