Aphrodite Clothing Rene Lacoste entered the legend of tennis when he and his team-mates won the Davis Cup in 1927. The true story of the Crocodile began in 1927. Rene Lacoste's nickname was 'The Alligator' so had a crocodile embroidered on the blazer he wore on the courts. In 1933, Rene Lacoste and Andre Gillier, the owner and President ...of the largest French knitwear manufacturing firm of that time, set up a company to manufacture the logo-embroidered shirt. The champion had designed the first Lacoste shirts for his own use on the tennis court, as well as a number of other shirts for tennis, golf and sailing - as can be seen in the first catalogue, produced in 1933. Aphrodite Clothing carries not only the iconic Lacoste Polo Shirts, but also Jeans, Jumpers, Jackets and Headwear.

Aphrodite Clothing Born in the mid noughties, Weekend Offender is fast becoming one of the most exciting t-shirt labels in the UK. It is a clothing label with attitude, taking its influences from music, film, fun and a range of subcultures, such as terrace casuals and the acid house scene. Original, inspirational and often controversial,... Weekend Offender is a bright new light in an increasingly bland corporate market.

Mike Skinner, Carl Cox and Nic Fanciulli are a few who are championing the brand and Weekend Offender T-Shirts have been spotted on the backs of the DJ's and clubbers all summer long in Ibiza's hottest venues and on the UK club scene.

2010 will see the Weekend Offender brand move on from its original roots in graphic designer t-shirts by adding classic polo shirts, jackets and track tops to the Weekend Offender collection.

Aphrodite Clothing Edwin Jeans was founded in Japan in 1947. K.K. Tsunemi had a passion for Jeans and Denim. To get them he needed to import them. Dirty, worn out and used jeans that he had to mend and clean by hand to sell them to his customers. In 1951 the first Edwin Jeans were available made of stiff, expensive and easily shrunk den...im! Tsunemi was driven to make better jeans and took the chance to start his own brand. Today, Edwin Jeans are proud to follow Tsunemi's ideas and priorities when it comes to the highest quality of denim fabrics, finishing skill, sewing techniques and fitting patterns. There is a reason why they were the first jeans brand to develop the old wash in 1970, stone wash in the 1980s and still continue to test without end to find the unique fit! Aphrodite is one of the only stockists of Edwin Jeans in the North East of England and carry these designer jeans in a variety of styles, denims and fits.

Aphrodite Clothing Aertex shirts were founded by Lancashire mill owner Lewis Haslam when he discovered the benefits of 'Cellular' fabric from an observation made on his aunt's 'holy' fabric gloves back in 1888. Legend has it that on a chilly day the cloth provided a buffer between the warmth of the skin and the chill of the atmosphere. T...he contradiction of 'holes' and 'warmth' created the birth of the Cellular Clothing Company and the famous Aertex brand.

Perhaps better known for its cooling properties, Aertex was a massive hit from the first batch of shirts it produced, and was a leading label in Britain from the 1940's through to the 1970's. It made uniforms for the Desert Rats fighting in North Africa in WWII and supplied England with football shirts for the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. The story of the still English-owned Aertex brand is now being rekindled for a new generation playing on its rich heritage and style.

Today, Aertex can be seen on the backs of everyone from Musicians to TV presenters. Famous fans include Paul Weller and Carl Barat. Aphrodite Designer Clothing currently stocks a range of Aertex shirts and polos in a variety of colours.
