For every woman professional fitted at these events, Wacoal will donate $2 to Komen for the Cure. We are pleased to announce the Sleep In for the Cure® being held on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Boone Tavern in Columbia at 811 E. Walnut from 9 A.M. through noon.
The Sleep In for the Cure event is normally held in conjunction with Race for the Cure 5k walk/runs that are held throughout the world by Susan G. Komen f...or the Cure® Affiliates. The Sleep In offers an alternative to those who wish to take part in the spirit of the Race without having to lace up their running shoes. The inaugural Susan G. Komen Mid-Missouri Race for the Cure® will be held on September 19, 2010; hosting a Sleep In one year in advance is meant to inform the public about next year’s race while raising money for breast cancer education, screening, treatment and research and to promote breast health. The event will benefit the Komen Mid-Missouri Affiliate.
Registrants for the Sleep In may stop in at Boone Tavern at any time between 9 A.M. and noon, as educational events will be held throughout the morning. Attendees will receive a Sleep In t-shirt for their $20 registration fee. They will also be greeted with the opportunity to learn more about breast health and breast cancer awareness. Those who wish to volunteer with the Affiliate are highly encouraged to attend. Volunteers from the Affiliate will be on hand, able to answer any questions and sign up new volunteers.
