Susan Mentrak :: Joybucket Dolls & Fabric
Hey, I've been waiting for you to stop by. Please be a dear and leave a comment on my wall. Not a deer deer but a dear dear. I suppose you could be a DEAR DEER but then typing would be a tad difficult with those hoofs of yours and such.

Flower Hairpin Tutorial
Image hosting by Photobucket I use a spool as my guide. I trace on the wrong side of the fabric. Image hosting by Photobucket Follow the line as a guide. Image hosting by Photobucket cut the circles out leaving about 1/8" - 1/4" allowance. Image hosting by Photobucket Cut a slit on the back so you can turn the fabric. If I were making a big flower, like as a pincushion, I would have left an opening when sewing. This will give you a consistant edge. Image hosting by Photobucket Stuff tight. Image hosting by Photobucket Sew shut. You might want to use matching thread. Image hosting by Photobucket Use 2 strands of embroidery thread, double over and knot. Push through so needle comes out the front side. Loop around to front again. Pull tight. This will make a line. Image hosting by Photobucket Continue and space equally. I usually make 5 to look like a star. Image hosting by Photobucket Add beads to the middle. Image hosting by Photobucket Push bobby pin through thread loops on back.
