Sustainable Santa Monica City of SM Green Building Program, Stakeholder Input Public Meeting Monday, December 7th, 6:30-8:30pm at the SM Main Library. The City is considering changes to its green building requirements (i.e. 70% diversion of C&D waste from landfill, 0.25 gallons per flush maximum for all new urinals). Sustainable Santa Monica The new Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach utilizes post-consumer denim for insulation and recycled plastic and concrete for decking and panels. Sustainable Santa Monica Big Blue Bus is adding 11 new Articulated buses to their fleet in 2011. They will be 60 feet long and offer 53 seats instead of the usual 40. They will run on compressed natural gas which is 77% cleaner burning than diesel fuel.
