Sustainable Sonoma
Nissan revealed a prototype for its new electric car on Sunday, August 2. Named the Leaf, this vehicle is said to go into production by 2010 for a tentative release in the US, Japan, and Europe with an eye towards mass production by 2012. The Nissan Leaf is powered by Lithium Ion batteries and due to be launched in Japan, the U.S. and Europe in late 2010. It also includes advanced IT systems.
