Organisation Overview: Student Exchange Australia (SEA) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Sydney, Australia, which sends and receives students all around the world on student exchange programs.

Our Programs: Students can choose between programs from 2 -12 months duration to over 20 destinations. We offer a wide range of scholarships to enable students to participate who might not otherwise get the chance.

Apply before  October 31st and receive up to $1000 off your exchange program (for departures between April and September 2010)

Countries Available: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, and the USA.

Our Mission: Our mission is to offer the unique experience of living and studying in another culture and to enable young people to develop the skills and awareness that will enhance their future potential. Experience is everything.

Hosting an Exchange Student: Maybe you'd like to host an exchange student at your own home? SEA is always looking for volunteer host families to welcome students from over 20 countries around the world into their homes. It's a great way to improve your foreign language skills if you're studying a language at school and is also a great way to introduce a foreign culture into your family - and you get to share our culture with the student.

Bethany Attrina Kurtz

Bethany Attrina Kurtz Hey, I'm in year 11. I want to go to Japan for Semester or a short program. I admit, i don't have good report cards, and I'm barely passing. Would i still be able accepted?

Hi Bethany,
Japan tends to be stricted than most countries when ot comes to grades. You would also need to have a decent level of Japanese before you go. Honestly, if you are struggling to pass here I doubt you would be accepted, but if the rest of your application is very string it may be possible. If you'd like to chat more about your options please give us a call on 1300 135 331.

Hi Jared,
It really depends on what you're looking for. A full semester will give you a good chance to really immerse yourself in the culture and develop good friendshipsm but it will happen during school time.
A 3 month exchange is over the Summer holidays so you don't miss out on school, but many people feel that they're just getting settled in and then it's time to leave.
Try and come along to an info sessions and we will go through it in a bit more detail..

You all should definiatley consider it! I am currently in Argentina, for a 5 month program, through SEA and it is the best thing I have ever decided to do. SEA, at a great price, and they were so easy to deal with, we had no problems at all! I am having the time of my life here, it is the best place in the world! I am ...immersed in this beautiful culture, I have done so many great things and met so many great people. I am here for 5 months, and it doesnt effect my schooling back in Australia at all, when I get back I go straight into year 11, no need to repeat. Its so much fun! Goodluck to everyone on their exchanges.Read More
