looking for authentic Mexican might be disappointed by Two Brothers
Pizza & Mexican, but those who like their "South of the Border"
food served American-style will be pleased with the incredibly
affordable prices and abundant servings. It seems to be a ...formula for
success, because after more than five years in business, Two Brothers
is opening a second location in Plymouth. You order at the
counter and then sit in the large cafeteria-style dining room with its
hand-painted murals and sunset-colored walls to wait for your food to
be delivered. Since it was our first visit, we should have paid better
attention to the cues of the friendly woman who took our order. When a
restaurant employee says, "Wow, you guys must be hungry," it's a pretty
good bet you're ordering too much food. Two BrothersPizza & Mexican331 Cotuit Road, Sandwich508-888-4555www.twobrotherspizza.comWe
were in fact hungry, but our appetites would have needed to be twice as
large to finish off the four dishes we sampled. Everything is made to
order using fresh ingredients that can be customized to suit your
taste. The server, who has worked for the restaurant for five years,
was very knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent suggestions. There
were three of us, so we began our meal with the nacho supreme ($7.14),
which can be made with beef, chicken or beans. It came in a huge bowl
that was overflowing with toasted nacho chips, tender seasoned ground
beef, cheese, chopped tomatoes, sliced black olives and jalapenos with
sides of sour cream and salsa. The nachos were nicely layered so there
was plenty of beef and cheese all the way to the bottom — not that we
reached it. We only managed to finish half of the order. At our
server's suggestion, I ordered the chicken quesadillas ($7.69), which
came with marinated chicken, cheese and a choice of three veggies from
an extensive list. I chose fresh spinach, black olives and onion, and
it was very tasty but, again, enormous. I ate one wedge, my husband
sampled a second and the other two came home with us.My husband
tried enchiladas ($7.69), consisting of two stuffed flour tortillas.
For fillings, there is a choice of chicken, beef or bean or a
combination. He tried one beef and one chicken and preferred the
chicken. The stuffed tortillas were smothered with salsa and cheese and
baked before being topped with cold tomatoes and black olives. A side
of chips, salsa and sour cream made for a huge meal that he could get
only halfway through. Our teenage son decided on the Texas taco
($3.79), a baked flour tortilla filled with barbecue chicken, onions
and cheese that he loved. He actually finished the whole thing, but
said one was plenty. We stuck to the Mexican side of the menu,
but that is a small part of what Two Brothers serves. Its extensive
menu includes a huge selection of pizzas, pasta dinners, calzones,
salads and sandwiches. With so many choices, it's hard to imagine
anyone walking away hungry.
