Mike Singletary was one of the greatest football players in the league as I was growing up. He was and is a leader of men. This week he was called upon to serve as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers...

Most people think their attitude about life and its events is relatively unimportant. There is nothing further from the truth. The Apostle Paul tells us to have the same attitude about things as Jesus in Phillippians 2:5 - a great start...

I am sitting in the delivery room at Virtua Hospital this morning with my wife Amanda waiting for the birth of baby James Bowen...

Today at Crossroads we had Hilary Watson, a Christian musician from Riverside, California join us to lead us in worship. She is a phenomenally gifted young lady who is led of the Spirit to lead worhsip, write and peform inspirational music...

Yesterday we looked at the last clauses in the Lord's Prayer. After the service my friend John and I were discussing the subject, especially "Forgive us our trespasses..." A point John made that I had failed to point out that the heart of a trespass is crossing a line...

I am in Florida for the next few days leading a conference for Christian camp presidents. If you are interested in reading more about these camps and the conference you can check out www.campmeetingleader.com

This coming Sunday is another one of those days I will remember for a long time. When we started Crossroads Church we wanted to accomplish a lot of things, one of the things I wanted was to be part of a church that does not do things as they had always been done. Now don't get me wrong...

Last Sunday we looked at "Why do I do the things I don't want to do?". BIG QUESTION! I apologized to those who were there, especially in the 10 a.m. worship, for cutting the message short but promised to share the rest with you...

"Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it." He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven." Genesis 28:16-17 I often hear stories about people going to this place or that place because it is holy...

In September members of our church family where I worship, Crossroads Community Church, are challenging themselves to do the following - We are calling it: Tithing Our Time to GodTithing Our Money to GodMemorizing Proverbs 3:5-10September is a great time to get back to our spiritual disciplines,...

A story tells of a merchant in a small town who had identical twin sons. The boys worked for their father in the department store he owned and, when he died, they took over the store. Everything went well until the day a dollar bill disappeared...

This past Sunday was one of those Sundays where we went away saying, "That was like nothing I have ever experienced at church before". We had a great time celebrating and welcoming some new friends and family members and had a great time at a beautiful locale...

Just about everyone I know wants what is best for them. Just about everyone I know wants it right now.....

I am on my way back from spending a fantastic and exhausting week at Hollow Rock Camp near Toronto, Ohio. It was my pleasure to be one of three evangelists and to share the experience with Amanda and A.J...

This Sunday we will be looking at the account of Jesus meeting the disciples on the road to Emmaus. This occurs after Jesus' death and resurrection and these disciples have packed it in and are heading back to the old way of life...

I sat down this morning to begin work on Sunday's message on the Character of Chrst: To Love as Jesus Loved and before I got into the groove I read an email from my friend Rick. He shared with me this video about Team Hoyt...

Today was a wonderful day for our church. There has been a lot of hard work and planning that paid off today. We were able to unload and were prepared in time for our first service at 8:30 and had the trailer loaded by 11:45. It was great to see everyone serving and getting involved in the fun...

Crossroads Church
Today is the day of the big move. A crew will be there around 7:30 to get things started.
Rumor is the first ones there will be enjoying HOT OUT OF THE OVEN Apple Cider Donuts from Russo's Farm Market... kind of like seeing the Krispy Kreme Light lit up!

"A troop of porcupines is milling about on a cold winter's day. In order to keep from freezing, the animals move closer together. Just as they are close enough to huddle, however, they start to poke each other with their quills...

This is a day I have been waiting for. Chipotle, a great concept restaurant, has come to the area. Today I took my wife and son for their first taste...

This Sunday we will be looking at the the account of Jesus washing the disciple's feet in John 13. I am fascinated by the simplicity and strangeness of this event. In the last few hours before being arrested on his way to the cross, Jesus stops and washes the disciples feet...

There is a standard in this world, a dividing line between right and wrong established by God from the foundation of the world. We get ourselves into trouble when we are either ignorant or ignore the measure of God’s plan as it applies to our lives...

We are a little over three years into this lovely experiment. What a fun and educational experience it has been. Crossroads is a volunteer driven church. What do I mean by that? No one started out as a paid staff person...

Yesterday I had the honor of walking in graduation exercises at Rutgers. It was a great day, my sons David, Bobby and AJ were there as was Mandy. Also joining us was Dr. Ron Smith, my mentor and pastor. Ron came all the way from Jackson, Mississippi to share the day.

Each spring a group from Crossroads Church travels to Del Rio, Texas and across the border into Acuna, Mexico to work with Christians in Acuna. Here are some pictures of the 2008 trip. On Sunday May 18th the group shared their adventure with the church.
