Homer is a beautiful young male Siberian Husky that was found wandering
the woods in East Lyme. He was very thin and had a collar and leash
attached. We think that he was left by someone Sadly ,Homer seems to be
blind and was very confused when found. He is a great dog... with an
incredible temperment. He is becoming used to his surroundings at the
pound. We feel strongly that he would do well with someone who will be
patient with him while he adjusts to a new home. Blind dogs can do very
well in homes with another dog to bond with. Please consider this
special dog. Call the Waterford/East Lyme Animal Shelter and arrange a
visit.

Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue Just because huskies have a thick coat, doesn't make them outdoor dogs to be left tied outside all alone with no interactions. Huskies are pack animals and they crave the companionship & society of family interaction. No one likes to feel left out in the cold.

Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue Attention Malamute owners... we often get asked what the difference is between the Siberian Husky and a Malamute. Since I see we have Malamute fans I am hoping you can help! Tell us... what is the difference?

A sibe's ears usually point straight up and down, where a mal's sit and point more to the sides of the head.

Are you looking for a playmate for your current dog, but you just can't afford vet expense of adding another dog? Or maybe you have a job where you only have certain times of the year where you can have a dog.. the other times you just can't spare the time so you don't want to get a dog because you know you can't kee...p him or her happy all year?

Here is a possible answer... FOSTERING! Vet expenses are paid for, we even get toy donations for the pups! Maybe you can in fact have your cake AND eat it too!

Meet Willow. She enjoys long walks and rides in the car. She is also housebroken!
5 year old female Siberian living in Northeastern PA. Good with kids, but not small dogs or cats. Would do best as single dog or with a male companion dog. Is a known digger and will jump over 4 foot fences and has gone through elect...ric fences. Her father had to go overseas three years ago and is serving our country. Her family just can't keep her contained in their 4-foot fence and she has gotten out and hurt some neighborhood cats. They need her out soon. Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue The Husky Tip of the Day is: A CRATE can be very important part of a husky's life. Remember that huskies are denning animals by nature and a crate is a place where they can go to get away from it all. Everyone needs a special place to go, be sure your husky has one.

Our huskies were afraid of the crates. I think it is was from the previous abusers we rescued them from. But they loved their "make shift crate" which was an old style, heavy computer desk we had. They curled up under it with their blankets and chew toy. :-)

Dog of the day... Keya. Keya needs to find a special home she can call her own.

Keya
is a 5 year old Husky who is looking for a home because her
owners can no longer care for her. As with most huskies Keya
is a big talker and a bit of mischief lover. She wil...l chase
small animals and take off if she has a chance but what husky
wouldn’t? This means that Keya needs a secure yard and
a companion to keep her occupied in her new home. Keya is
great with big and small dogs but is not good with cats. She
also loves people and is very affectionate. Keya loves to
talk and is happy to have anyone listen. Please give Keya
a new home today.

If
you can give me a new home http://www.siberescue.com/Forms/adoptapplication.html

Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue The Sky Report: Sky is doing very well, settled in already. No pacing and ate his food this morning. Went for a walk and did well. His new favorite past time? Deer chasing! They said he takes off about dusk without even hitting the stairs on the deck to the back yard to chase them. (The deer are on the other side of the fence) He said he has never quite seen those deer jump like that!
