This is a photo of our Husky, Dakota, who recently passed away. With him is Ellie, our adopted Husky, Lab mix. We had adopted Dakota about eight years ago at the age of three, from a shelter. He had been placed twice and had a sign on his cage that said aggressive. They were sure wrong about Dakota. He was a wonderful, loving, gentle dog that ... See Moreloved people and other dogs. He was also used as the Northern Illinois University mascot. He actually learned to talk a few words. He said bone, hotdog, popcorn, food, and Joe. HONEST! So now we have Ellie, who is two years old and Rocky who is four months.

Debbie Alexander Beware of a scam on the internet regarding the sale of Siberian Husky puppies. Our Husky passed away and we were searching rescues for another one when an offer popped up for a puppy to be shipped via air if we send $200 overseas. We finally found a beautiful puppy from a local breeder here in our hometown, Goldsboro, NC.

Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue Q: My Siberian Husky's nose is turning pinkin the winter, is something wrong? A: That is what some refer to as a "snow nose." It is very normal for a Siberian's nose to turn pink or have patches of pink in the winter time. It will then return to a darker color in the summer months.

Punky's nose always turns pink in the winter. When it gets warmer and she's laying in the sun, I say she's 'tanning her nose' lol

Not my little girl. She's very cautious. She goes to daycare once a week for a play day and they tell me that she avoids a very nice Newfoundland. Punky is bossy, but she knows when she's outweighed LOL

Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue Q: Isn't it cruel to make a dog pull a sled, bike or other things? A: Take the time to see dogs pulling in person and get to know Huskies and other dogs who 'pull' and you will quickly learn that it would be impossible to *make* a Siberian do anything, let alone pull someone if they don't want to do it.

Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue Sweet Godiva is hoping for some Holiday cheer. She is requesting from Santa Paws: "Godiva eats Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul Adult, and she'd love
a home of her own, where she can hold the bed down all day and have
someone to pet her and snuggle with at night."

But can she run 20 miles and then hold the bed down?
