We're saddened to share the news that former HMT employee and teacher Tim Smith has passed away in New Orleans, due to complications from a heart tumor. Tim was a great jazz/rock musician and performed with several groups in the DC area, Pennsylvania & New Orleans. He also taught guitar and bass. We're kicking off our First Anniversary (of our move to our new location) celebration with a storewide sale and a visit from the Breedlove Bus. This is a mobile showroom Breedlove is sending around the country with a large selection of their fine guitars and mandolins. Get on the bus, try out some instruments--they w...ill also be available to purchase! Breedlove reps will be on hand to answer questions about the instruments and their company. If you've been considering buying a Breedlove instrument that we haven't had in stock, this may be your chance!

The shops and businesses on Westmoreland Ave. are hosting an "open house" of sorts to encourage folks to explore off the main drag of Carroll Ave. Shops will be offering special discounts and promotions (10% off Celtic instruments, books & CDs at HMT in honor of St. Patty's Day). There will be live music (featuring a...coustic duo Erik Sharar & Melanie Cobb), demonstrations of Reggae Yoga, Capoeria, Samba and other dance, a drum circle, refreshments, and more!
