Taku Resort and Marina Finally got power back this morning. We were at the bottom of the list to get fixed by BC Hydro but they needed a place to stay at the resort. Lucky us.

Looking at the aftermath of the 2nd worst storm since 2007. Ferry service has been cancelled since yesterday at 3:30pm. Two log booms in the marina snapped in half but a new one washed up on shore. A huge branch fell on the transformer in front of the office and we've been without power since yesterday evening. As of 4...am this morning the whole island has been without power. Other than that we're all good and Lynden is busy cleaning up debris and working in the office with a flash light. [gallery] Monday afternoon we headed over to the Big Smoke to watch Milt carry the Olympic flame. It was incredible to see so many people gathered at the Tyee Plaza for this once in a life time event. Despite the cold and the light rain, the energy was spectacular.
Taku Resort and Marina The Quadra Community garden had a work party today and opened up another 20 plots on land donated by Taku. The garden is now almost an acre in size. Last year we saw lots of beautiful veg and one giant pumpkin. We can't wait to see what grows next spring.
