Angela Tellone Hatch 9600 today.

Carole Frank Snyder Nothing better than Mikes hotdogs, dounuts bars hot doughnuts and O'flynns snow cones on the Sea Isle City's (back in the fifties) boardwalk. It was only 4 blocks long but we had so much fun and there was much to do unlike today.

Lori Ruberti Morris Slicer ~ from ~ Atlantic City: it was my Mothers, & now is mine. Sold to my Mom by Ed McMahon for $1.00 in the late 40's. Ed joined a broadcasting club in high school, and set his sights on a career in radio. Eds real training, came on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, where he would sell gadgets. The most memorab...le was the Morris metric slicer. He recounts his entire pitch,"Let me show you how the famous Morris metric slicer slices a tomato. Look at those perfect slices. You can adjust the blade so thin - look at that slice - you could read a newspaper through that slice of tomato. Why, I know a lady in Bayonne, New Jersey, had one tomato last her all summer long!"

Greg Golday Not to change the subject, but how about a nice pork roll and cheese sandwich. I just ordered a 6 pounder from Pork Roll Express. Now that's the Jersey Shore!!

Here is something to think about- especially for my fellow Italian Americans

An MTV reality show that depicts Italian-Americans as beach-loving guidos is offensive and should be canceled, two national Italian-American organizations say.

Robin Matalucci Montresor Emil, did you move all of your stories to your blog? I know they used to be here on this profile page. Maybe for all the new fans, you could post the blog link again, thanks.

Michael Devonshire Spent a nasty summer doing dishes at Busch's in Sea Isle City, but one of the best times ever! Over-stuffed on cinnamon apple rings tossed by the customers.

Michael Devonshire This is superb!

Carol Capalbo Great site Pat...always loved the shore and now I live here! Especially love Spring Lake,Point Pleasant and Cape May!!!

Many of you have asked where I came up with the profile image for the site.
It comes from a very old Fralinger's Saltwater Taffy brochure and guide of Atlantic City
We did a bit of retouching. Also used it on our perpetual calendar that is still available for sale for the holidays.

Angela Tellone Hatch Congratulations. 9500 and counting. You were right. 10,000 by Christmas. I was really hoping that it would be that many by Thanksgiving. I told everybody I know.

Wayne Tony Marts, The Anchorage 7 for1, Bay Shores, Somers Point...sheese I'm getting a hangover just remembering these places.

Tales of the New Jersey Shore
Many of you fans know I really like the old hand-carved carousels and lament the fact that there are only 2 left on the Jersey Shore. We used to have one in almost every resort including 2 in Asbury Park. ( The Palace and Casino )
This is a figure I rescued that was carved by the Dentzel family-the first family of carou...sel makers on the Jersey Shore at the turn of the century. I was told never to repaint it so he sits in my home reminding me of the days of the carousel.
I did not buy him from someone dismantling a carousel which I feel contributed to their demise. It was owned by a woman in CA for decades and she was was moving and it needed a new home. She rescued him from a park in San Francisco
He traveled from California to the Garden State :)
