Speaking from exprience, in my opinion, spiritual maturity is an ongoing process. Its like santification, there is ALWAYS something that the Lord God is teaching, rebuking, helping us to learn about being more like His son Jesus Christ.

These are my Top 5 indications that you are progress into spiritual maturity in Chirst:

{1.}You no longer struggle with the same sin, whatever it may be for you.

Romans 8:5-8
"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

{2.}You will slowly but surley lose your old friends "if they are still in the world"

1Corinthians 2:14
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned

{3.} You'll WANT(it won't be chore or boring to you) to fed your spirit with the Word of God.
That's food to your spirit. If your not feeding you spirit with the Word of God then...well what happens when your body start to get hungry or even starve?

Romans12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

{4.} You will start to pray the scriptures and declare them more frequently (if you are not doing so already)

{5.}Most of all you'll get BETTER at practicing the 9 fruits of the SPirit, which are:

Galatians 5:22-23
Love, Joy, Peace
Patience, Kindness, Goodness,
faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control

THERE IS SO MUCH MORE BUT I'M SURE THE LORD
WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH THIS PROCESS BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR LEARNING THE SAME LESSON ALL OVER AGAIN :-) ITS KEEPS US ON OUR TOES SO WE WONT BE VUNERABLE TO THE EMEMY

2Corinth2:11
"In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes."

1Peter5:8
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour"

Hope that Helps
Be Blessed :-)

Fulissa, maturity doesn't happen overnight but each day that we choose to live for Christ we will see changes in our hearts and actions. Others will too. Things that wouldn't have mattered before will break your heart. We're all under construction though!

i have been praying about this ..worshipping a pyramid(alpha/phi alpha) or any egyptology...is of the false religion of Egypt. And is sinful. but are they in nature sinful.Soroties and fraternities I mean(I amnot in a sorority) but it seems then inheritly any group brought toegther by a common goal(republican/democrat) has the potential for ... See Morebecoming an idol. But is it sinful to participate. If one's witness is ... increased. My concern however if people place a higher bond to a "secret" soceity with their "sisters" /sorors then people in the body of Christ. Many people have more loyalty to their soros who they may not have a common bond with then people in the body of Christ. Shouldn't we have the same loyalty to one another as Christians?? And any 'secret' society that bonds around debauhery(though a choice) or any ritualistic things is borderline witchcraft..but can joining together based on a common suhject such as biology..is this really sinful or is it what people do that makes it so. (anything that doesn't have Christ as the head will potentially be distructive..you can make an idol out of sewing if do it apart from GOD..but sewing is not sinful) just a question? Please show me "secret societies" in the bible? So I have a word to back this up.

There is no specific reference to secret societies in the bible. However, most if not all secret societies require incoming members to take oaths. In the Bible, James states that Christians must not swear by an oath: "But above all things, my brethren, swear not…but let your yes be your yes; and your no, no; lest you fall into condemnation." James. 5:12.

{{I know in court you have to swear to tell the truth etc.. I'm not sure if you have a choice, but I'm sure the Lord may not hold that against whomever...Im guessing. We can always ask for forgivingness, is so}}

YOU WROTE: "And any 'secret' society that bonds around debauhery(though a choice) or any ritualistic things is borderline witchcraft..but can joining together based on a common suhject such as biology..is this really sinful or is it what people do that makes it so."... See More
**************************
ANY affiliation with soroties or fraternities is a sin according to the Word of God. Doesn't matter what the motives are for joining.
*************************************************
The Lord does nothing in secret, of course, somethings
we may not understand but like his words says:

Isaiah55:8
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.

AS FAR AS SECRETS GO CHECK OUT THESE VERSES:

Amos 3:7
“For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.

Jeremiah 1:9
Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
*************************************************
Of course now we can make other objects and people idols in our lives. If it takes priority over the Lord God then...yep you guessed it, its an idol.
Here are TWO of MANY scriptures where the Lord God talks about idols, false gods:

Deut: 32:16- They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols.

Deut:32:20-21 " I will hide my face from them," he said,
" and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful. They made me jealous by that is no gdo and angered me with their worthless idols.
*************************************************
If the Lord God decides He wants to reveal his secrets to
us related to our own life situation, events to come, etc,
then He will reveal it to His appointed prophets or if He can trust you as His child then He will reveal his plans to everyday 'normal' believers through the Holy Spirit.
Because as a Holy Spirit filled believesr we can all prophecy (but that doesn't mean we're Prophets thats a different story):

1 Corinthians 14:5
"Now I want you ALL to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy;"

Check out this verse: Psalm 25:14 "The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them"

Basically, if we can trust in the Lord God and He sees that our hearts towards Him is faithful then, He can trust us
with whatever He choses to share with us
<If we can handle it>
*************************************************
LAST BUT NOT LEAST. The summary of the article I posted is basically about false idols, false gods that is associated with
fraternities and sororities.

>>Its the enemy's crafty, deceiving way to led the children of God astray without even knowing it. Its "cool" to pledge or for whatever status one might gain from joining. The origins of these lead back to false gods that were worshipped by people from long ago.<<<

{ I know some men and women have good intentions of joining and I'm not condemming them at all, but if you are a child of God you should know what this really entails}.

There are countless times where the Lord God expresses how he feels about these false gods. The Isrealities had a big time problem with this. Fast forward to the future and here
it is in this nation(and around the globe), same problem.

Ecclesiastes1:9 "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

Be Blessed :-)
