THREE OF USF’S ATHLETIC HEAD COACHES TO SPEAK AT THE TAMPA LATIN CHAMBER’S SEPTEMBER 29TH LUNCHEON -- Sponsored by Southern Crafted Homes.
The Tampa Latin Chamber (TLC) welcomes three of the University of South Florida’s (USF) Athletic Head Coaches as its guest speakers for the next monthly lunch meeting on Tuesday, Se...ptember 29 at the Doubletree Hotel at 4500 West Cypress Street in Tampa. Networking and registration starts at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12 p.m. Sponsored by Southern Crafted Homes, the Sept. 29th luncheon cost is $25 in advance, walk-up cost is $30 at the door, or free for current TLC members (price includes a meal). All individuals interested in attending should send in their reservation request by e-mail to reservations@tampalatinchamber.com to confirm a seat. Individuals with a current TLC membership who reserve in advance will be guaranteed a seat at the event.
Lelo Prado, USF Head Coach for Men's Baseball, is a native of Cuba who grew up in Tampa before embarking on an ultra-successful college coaching career. Since being appointed head coach in 2006, he has produced consecutive BIG EAST Championship appearances and led the team to 67 wins, posting back-to-back 30-win seasons. Most recently, he was named the 2009 BIG EAST Coach of the Year in Men’s Baseball.
George Kiefer, USF Head Coach for Men's Soccer since 2002, has led the team to four NCAA appearances finishing in the NCAA Elite Eight last season. Under Kiefer, the USF Bulls recorded one of their most successful seasons in men's soccer history taking home the trophy as 2008 BIG EAST Conference Tournament Champions for the first time in the program’s history.
Jose Fernandez, USF Head Coach for Women’s Basketball since 2000, has also received BIG EAST Coaching honors. Under his tutelage, the USF Lady Bulls have advanced to an unprecedented five-straight postseason tournaments, including the program’s first-ever NCAA tournament during the 2005-06 season. He has also guided USF to two 20-win campaigns and won the 2009 WNIT National Championship.
The 2009 TLC lunch meetings are scheduled for the LAST TUESDAY of each month. The next monthly luncheons will be held on Oct. 27 and Nov. 24 in the same Doubletree Hotel location. Companies or individuals interested in sponsoring or speaking at a future TLC event should contact Ileana Devin via e-mail at idevin@mananamarketing.com to specify their interest.
The introductory 2009 TLC membership fee is $175 per person and includes the cost of monthly luncheons through December 2009. The sooner you sign up for membership, the more value and savings you receive! The TLC membership application and payment authorization form can be obtained online at www.tampalatinchamber.com and should be sent with the payment authorization form by fax or to the mailing address noted on the form. Membership cost is for one individual/company registered at this time; additional guests will be required to pay the individual event cost to attend. Corporate membership pricing for multiple employee use under a corporate name will be available for the 2010 membership year.
