TO ALL USF STUDENTS: DON'T LIVE IN EPSILON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can Epsilon please be demolished or renovated!!!!! a month ago the pipes in my suite's bathroom burst (causing mildew which i had an allergic reaction to!!!) and the sinks gurgle and spit up dirty water every day and i'm worried the pipes are going to b...urst again and the ceiling had a dripping bubble, but that was actually fixed and then a few days ago workers were underground for an emergency fixing the sewer pipes and now i come in today and the first floor is flooded with sewer water...the emergency lights also don't come on during power outages...these dorms are 50 years old and are the only dorms that have never been renovated!!!!!!! I should not have to pay $400 something a month to live in CRAP!!!!!!!!! I only became a fan here so that i can comment...this is SO unbelievably ridiculous

Nicole What's the deal with super single rooms? And is there a certian way that I know I will get just a single room in on-campus housing for spring? Are there more single rooms then just in the andros community?

The Tunnel of Oppression is a collection of skits designed to raise awareness about different forms of oppression that occur in our society everyday. The tunnel is free of charge to everyone. Individuals will see diversity related issues that are prevalent on college campuses. Tour guides will be taking the groups thro...ugh each of the skits and at the end of the tunnel a discussion will be held. Each skit is designed to educate attendees about oppression all over the world and how they can help others overcome it. This event is put on every year by the Department of Housing and Residential Education.
The experience lasts about one hour, and you may arrive any time between 6pm and 9pm on Oct 26-28 at Mu Hall.
The Tunnel of Oppression is a campus diversity initiative originally developed at Western Illinois University. The initiative stemmed from a homogeneous campus environment searching for a way to represent the realities of oppression into a full sensory experiential manner. The creators of the Tunnel of Oppression wanted to give participants the opportunity to see, touch, hear, and feel the realities of oppression as a stepping stone towards creating diversity awareness. The first Tunnel of Oppression was loosely based off of the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, CA.
The Tunnel of Oppression is intended to be eye-opening and consciousness raising and is built as a brief introductory experience for those students who have rarely experienced difference. The rationale is that students are often unable to fully understand oppression and discrimination until they have experienced it first-hand.
The experience should stimulate thoughts, feelings, and emotions around the issues and images presented. Therefore, the Tunnel is often shocking and disturbing to those who have never experienced blatant forms of discrimination or oppression. A number of feelings can be evoked as a result of the full-sensory experience and may also be upsetting to those who have witnessed the realities of the images presented. Yet, it is important to realize that the scenes depicted in the Tunnel represent reality for those living it as a daily experience.
