Tarrytown Music Hall Neko Case's "Middle Cyclone" tops the Amazon Best of 2009 chart where they compare her to The Band and U2 (bit of a headscratcher, that one). In any case, in a very good year for recorded music, it's in my Top 10 for sure. She's a wonderful live performer and is at the Music Hall next Wednesday the 11th.

Tarrytown Music Hall Over the Rhine's "Ohio" is #26 on Paste Magazines 50 Best Albums of the Decade. Give it a listen and then come out and see them at the Music Hall on December 2nd (with Vienna Teng). Interesting list in general, quite a few of the artists have appeared at the Music Hall.

Levon Helm, legendary singer, drummer, and multi-instrumentalist of the equally legendary Band, returns to the Music Hall. After surviving throat cancer in the late 90’s, Helm has experienced a late career renaissance, both as a performer and recordin...g artist. His Midnight Ramble, the late night concerts and jam session at his studio in Woodstock, have achieved legendary status. He has released two critically acclaimed CD’s since 2007, the Grammy winning Dirt Farmer and Electric Farmer in June of this year. Helm was named one of Rolling Stones 100 Greatest Singers and is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Tao Rodriquez-Seeger, Mammals co-founder and grandson of Pete Seeger, opens the show.
