The Charlotte Turkey Trot features a great course and is a hugely popular race, year after year. Word has it that registration for this year's event is about to be closed. This hot spot offers everything from custom-built burgers to pool tables and a huge beer selection. Tasting: 5:30-7 p.m.
Featuring the wines of central Italy's Vigneto San Vito; owner/vintner Federico Orsi will be in Charlotte to lead the tasting. $35/person, 100% tax-deductible (purchase of a passport or border pass includes the tasting)
Wine Pairings Dinner: 7-9 p.m.
Restaurateur Thierry Garconnet has created a delightful, intimate evening for us - a dinner with the winemaker! You won't want to miss this magnificent multi-course dinner paired with Federico's white wines and Dedicato de Patrius succulent Italian blends. $100/person
The wine tasting will be limited to 60 guests; the dinner will be limited to 40 guests. Reservations are required no later than November 10.
