Carla Taylor Tucker

Carla Taylor Tucker My daughter bought a signed, hardbound copy of "My Fair Godmother" from your table at the Phoenix Faerie Festival a week or so ago. She finished it this past weekend and absolutely loved it! Since she spent her own money on it, I was prepared for potential backlash of the "I paid good money for this?!" variety, and am... quite pleased that did not happen. Thanks for the recommendation!

Changing Hands Bookstore Can anyone suggest a good way to conduct a Facebook contest? We have Twitter contests from time to time (twitter.com/changinghands), mostly because it's simple to track retweets via @ replys. What do you think? Do you find that sort of thing irritating? We're all ears!

If you have something posted and someone else shares it it usually will show up on your page...but I don't know if that works if someone is a fan of your page and not an actual "friend"...will have to think about it! (I don't twitter so I don't know how that works).

Wild Fire apps can help you if you want to increase your Friends dramatically. If you are looking for something fun to do go with a Flat Stanley sort of thing or choose a book that has recently been released and play I Spy. Have friends upload pics of others carrying, reading, etc. the book. It would also be fun with something like the new ... See MorePatterson since he says in his commercials that if you don't buy the book he will have to kill off Alex Cross. If you had time before an author shows up like Debbie Macomber you could upload pics of people reading, carrying, etc. her book. The visual abilities for contest on Facebook are so much better than twitter. You just have to get creative.

Changing Hands Bookstore Ever see the inside of the Amazon.com distribution center in Goodyear, Arizona? Here's a photo from the New York Times. Funny, if Amazon ships the Mickey Mouse doll in the photo from Goodyear to your home anywhere in Arizona they don't have to collect or remit sales tax, but if we sell it, we're forced to. Same goes fo...r books, of course. (E-fairness provisions have passed in several states, but not ours. Just sayin'.)

For now, it’s a battle of discounts, but Wal-Mart and Amazon are also fighting over the future of retailing.
