Jody Nix Good to see this on here, I have an ol' Dance Hall.....The Stampede built by Hoyle and Ben Nix in 1954, it has been in our family for 55 years....Big Spring, Texas
Clyde Cantrell There is one dance hall that is closed and gone forever, and that's Pat's Hall in Fredericksburg. In the summer the bands played under a large Oak tree and everybody danced around the bandstand.

As a kid in Victoria, we would always go to Schroeder Hall in Goliad Co. What a great place to have a dance on the weekend. I'm planning a trip home in 2010, so hopefully Schroeder will have something going on. Also, I recently learned that the Stegellman (sp?) hall in Schulenburg has reopened after 60 years. I saw... the renovations that they have done on their website. Kudos to them. I'll be paying them a visit too w/my wife and 4 year old son.Read More

When I was at A&M, we used to have all our club dances (Saddle & Sirloin) at a place out on 21 West. I think it was called the TJSPJ Hall or something like that. Can't remember the letters, but I know they are scattered out all over that part of Texas. Great place. Old wooden structure with a wooden dancefloor.
Anyone know anything about these places?
