In September 2007 The Apollo Effect were crowned winners of the first annual Great Canadian Band Challenge rising above 400+ artists from around the World to claim the top prize. With a live webcast vote, a live audience vote and a panel of judges determining the outcome, The Apollo Effect stole the show which was highlighted by a superb victory set by the band as well special guests Faber Drive.

Since then, The Apollo Effect has been receiving tremendous reviews and heavy rotation on many major radio stations across Canada. The band is set to cross the country touring in support of their full length debut Anitsocial Disorder, featuring the first single and video The Bomb. The disc was recorded in Hamilton and produced by the band with some production assistance from Gord Deppe of Canada’s pioneering new wave band The Spoons. It was mixed by Mike Borkosky, currently one of Canada’s hottest Producer/Mixing engineers, with such acts as Ill Scarlett, Low Level Flight and The Reason to his credit.

The Burlington based band formed in Toronto in 2004 by two East Coast natives singer/songwriter Brent Lunney (New Brunswick) and drummer Gerry Madden (Newfoundland). The band would later add Bassist Ben Legge (Toronto) and Dennis Hahn (Orangeville) on Keyboards/Guitar. In 2007 the band welcomed another East Coast native from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Shawn Van De Sande on lead guitar.
