If he can create more theatrics, he can translate that into a more valuable future book deal or radio/tv commentator spot. It's good that the Judge said no to the plans by NBC for him to appear on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here a few months ago. It would have been a mockery to the people of Illinois by NBC.

Having recently moved from Illinois, with our last two governers either in jail or headed there, I can say they have taken the crime of corruption to a new high! At every level. Oops, that new president guy is from there too.....

The Arrest of Rod Blagojevich http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/13/us/13blago.html

"In the month since his arrest, he has signed more than a dozen bills, issued 22 pardons (before his arrest, he had granted 115 pardons over six years), and actually showed up to his Thompson Center office more often, say his bewildered building mates, than ever before."

Presumably because it's not bugged.

Of course he knew. The Chicago machine has fallen before and it will fall again. We all need to fight, keep Tony Peraica in office as a commissioner and vote for him if he runs for states attorney again. Do not re-elect Daley. Cook County and Chicago are just as corrupt as Springfield. Taxes are going up, and they are paying for salaries within cook county and Chicago. I hope that Rod Blagojevich's arrest will wake Illinois up.
