Bee Thakore is a swarm roboticist with a passion for space. She has advised NASA, as well as working on multidisciplinary challenges for the X PRIZE and the International Space University and was a leading member of Space Generation, the international space advocacy movement of young people. Professor David Perrett is a member of the Greater London Industrial Archaeology Society (GLIAS), which records relics of London's industrial history and advises on the preservation of historic industrial buildings and machinery. A medical research scientist at Queen Mary’s in London, he also collects old scientific equipment. Artist Neal White set up the Office of Experiments in 2004, whose ongoing Overt Research Project is developing a database of research sites and institutions of science and technology in the UK. Steve Rowell is an artist and researcher. He examines technology and infrastructure on, beneath, and above the landscape. In addition to his own practice he collaborates with The Center for Land Use Interpretation (CLUI) in the US.Chaired by Rob La Frenais, Curator, The Arts Catalyst.
‘The Culture of Enthusiasm’ is inspired and informed by the research of geographer Dr Hilary Geoghegan into the cultures of technology and collecting.
