The Black Reel Awards Over the last ten years, images of African-Americans in film have provided inspiration, celebrated heroism and the trumpeted the ability to overcome adversity, in our humble opinion. These 15 films represent the enduring reel images from the first decade of the 21st century.

The Black Reel Awards After watching thousands of undesirable films, we've compiled a list of the absolute worst films of the past decade. The sad thing is that there were several hundred films that could have easily made this list but these are the ones that almost made us give up the business!

The Black Reel Awards salutes Precious on several high-profile nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress (Gabourey Sidibe) and Best Suppoting Actress for Mo'Nique. Kudos also to Morgan Freeman but although I liked Avatar, Best Picture and Best Director for James Cameron is TRULY a stretch!

They honored Gabby Sidibe with the Best Breakthrough Performance and Mo'Nique continued her march to Oscar gold winning another Best Supporting Actress award. Next up, more critics group announcing awards later this week and both the Golden Globe and Black Reel Awards nominations next week!

The Black Reel Awards has just checked on the early results and things are looking good for the "Precious" one with a litte over half the vote in. With the Golden Globes announcing their nominations later this week, some victories from groups such as ours will help build momentum full speed hopefully to Oscar night. Polls close at 4pm!!!!
