The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band were formed in 1962 by Vivian Stanshall and Rodney Slater as an experimental jazz band. As the band began to grow in size, it acquired a more rockier sound. The band's fame increased as they appeared on children's program Do Not Adjust Your Set (which featured future Pythons Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and animations from a then-unknown Terry Gilliam) as the show's house band. Perhaps the Bonzo's most famous song is "I'm The Urban Spaceman".

Edmonson and Jupitus were joined by Stephen Fry as contributors to The Bonzo's first new album in 35 years, Pour l'Amour Des Chiens.
