Katherine Melissa Alva Garcia THE HISTORY OF THE COPY OF THE BOOK OF MORMON PRESERVED FROM 1841, THAT THE ELDER HOLLAN USE IN THE SEMIANNUAL CONFERENCE 179

The paper is normally found in a room, in a dark room, with a moisture and temperature control. It is considered as a "book price" for nearly two centuries.

But on Sunday, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland... spoke about the power of the Book of Mormon, during the Semiannual General Conference 179, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the same book in their hands.

With her powerful voice, Elder Holland said that this book was that had been used by Hyrum Smith, brother of Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as a source of power to meet its " imminent martyrdom "in 1844.
To ensure conservation of the book is stored where the conditions prescribed and rarely changes. Those who control this process are wearing gloves.

Richard E. Turley, a historian and church records said - "When Elder Holland wanted to use the book in his speech at the General Conference asked the historians as he was to manipulate the text to their seniority. Because the gloves makes them less nimble hands, sometimes leads to accidental tears, he said simply that his hands were clean.
This book is wonderful - bonded leather with gold emblems on the edges and stamped on the cover and sides. But it's the interior that makes it really incredible, "said Brother Turley, who is considered an expert in the book.

On the front cover are the names of those who printed the book in Liverpool, England in 1841. On one side of the back cover, there are signatures of the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ, including Heber J. Grant, James E. Talmage and Orson F. Whitney. Then there is a written summary of the life of Hyrum Smith by his father Joseph F. Smith, on the last days of it.
Within the book, in its 610 pages are marked by Hyrum Smith the day he and his brother Joseph Smith left the jail in Carthage, where later he and his brother would be killed by a mob. Joseph F. Smith, son of Hyrum Smith, who later became President of the Church, wrote a note on the back cover, indicating that his father took the book from a shelf two or three days before going to Carthage and read the passages marked the day of departure.
The book had come a few days before arriving at the home of Hyrum Smith in Nauvoo, Illinois. It is a first edition in 1841 from Europe, where members of the Quorum of Twelve are serving a mission in England. The impression was designed to make the book more accessible to members of the Church in England. The missionaries went abroad in 1839 and under the guidance of the Prophet Joseph Smith were able to print copies of the Book of Mormon, the brother said Turley.
"It had to happen in Liverpool, a wonderful place to publish. Even smaller volumes were made with high quality standards. This is a remarkable volume.

Church Historians assume that the volume was brought by one of the Apostles and handed over to Hyrum Smith. Finally ended up in possession of the hands of Mercy Thompson, sister of the wife of Hyrum Smith, Mary Fielding Smith. The Thompson family members kept the book until 1944, added to its value for the Church doing "a volume she autographed by leaders."
"Unless these volumes are placed in institutions, the deterioration starts and you can lose," the family decided that the volume was too important to keep in his personal collection.

While its historic significance is added value, Brother Turley noted that a second volume that has the Church which is "almost identical". The owners of the original books after hearing the story turned the same page noted that the importance of the actual book and testimony that brings can not be underestimated.
"It is a book that gives us faith in many ways. Of the historical prophets who wrote the book, the testimony of Joseph and Hyrum were martyred, the testimony of those who signed in later years, the latest evidence of a living apostle, is a chain of evidence ".

As this is a valuable book gives you wings writing recognition expected to spread to others.

Katherine Melissa Alva Garcia LA HISTORIA DE LA COPIA DEL LIBRO DE MORMON PRESERVADO DESDE 1841, QUE EL ELDR HOLLAN USO EN LA CONFERENCIA SEMESTRAL 179

As we've discussed in past articles, Joseph -- like any other prophet -- was a fallible human with preconceived ideas, opinions, and assumptions, who was divinely called to an important role. Worldviews don't change immediately or all at once. ...

Amen to that Bro. Floyd. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John3:16) Isn't Heavenly Father's love for us truly amazing?! The things that he has done for us....And yet he ask so little in return.
