Andrew Sundstrom Question: I saw that blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries were listed as meal options. I remember we talked about the sugar in fruit blocking the feel good effect or just being bad for people in general. Can you please advise?

Hope your having a great day and talk to you soon!

Regarding blueberries and other CR Way fruit recommendations, each suggestion has very little fructose, which is good. However, their low glucose content also prevents the insulin reaction necessary to activate serotonin biochemistry.

This doesn't mean that revving up a big insulin response is a good idea. But a small one is necessary and in the long run will result in less total insulin being secreted.

Note that in The CR way to Happy Dieting http://www.livingthecrway.com/home/Access.aspx, we classify several recipes as serotonin producing. All are based on combinations of complex carbs.... Read More

I realize this can be confusing. That is the reason for the conference calls. So we can talk about important subjects like this.

Thanks Paul! This was great... and looking forward to the call.

About the fasting from 1pm to 6 am... wow. I didn't try it at first because I thought it was limiting, too hard or sever... but I've found just the opposite. Getting to know you has allowed me to see how smart, scientific, and on helpful you are in regard to optimal living. You opened my eyes to much more about the CR way than the benefits of just eating fewer calories w/ RDA... I almost can't believe the benefits I've got from following the cr way as you've outlined...

I was going back and fourth for a while... learning more, lowering glucose etc., it was like a constant rebound because I'd feel so deprived - I'd rebound to sweets and or too many calories that would make me feel groggy, down, and overall operating less well because of the added stress on body and mind.... Read More

For the past 3 days, I've included partial fasting starting at 1PM... (I wish I had really believed the benefits sooner - and how fulfilling, scientific, easy to do - because it feels great and is like I get way more out of life)

New results sense partial fasting: Everything is sharper, I concentrate better, during the day (and evenings) I don't get tired , sleep much better, overall feel much more well being and happiness. Very noticable congnitive improvements. So beyond the amazing feel good effect of low GI serving per day without protein/sugar... I'm concentrating better and just have better mental clarity - like the mental fog has cleared. Such great results within 1 week! Amazing!

Now interested in how to best use all of this improved congnitive functioning and energy - perhaps for executive functioning? - e.g. noticed you get up at 4AM and work until 6AM before eating, for example... I've always gotten up at 5AM as a hard working, busy entrepreneur dedicated to performance and achieving goals... just 'never' with this much energy and clarity! It really is amazing. Thanks!

Looking forward to the call!

Hi Paul. Today, I felt a strong urge for sweets - But I remembered that craving for sweets is a false way to get the feel good effect... so I took a break from writing copy and a marketing strategy for a client (instead of going to WholeFoods and getting dry fruit) and took the relaxation soup with sprouted bread, oliv...e oil, and walnuts. And wow. It doesn't take 45 minutes to have an effect. It's practially within minutes and I'm now more than calm. Can't thank you enough for your wisdom, shared passion, and for the call! Looking forward to more.

Just bought two copies of your book to give to two of my clients who were asking me about the cr way/lifestyle... they see how efficient, happy and productive I am... hope they come on board too.

Thanks, Andrew. It is really wonderful to see you getting such good results. Understanding how to produce serotonin from meals makes a major difference in how easy it is to stick with a CR diet. That is why we wrote The CR Way to Happy Dieting, to make traveling The CR Way easy to do.

Thanks. It's amazing and packed full of science in a easy to do way. One great thing is I've not felt hungry at all, with just tiny meal at 1PM - though I have more questions in regard to application so I can make sure I get it right in my life - knowing how to apply it and what to avoid - it's more than great!

Just discussed this at The CR Society Board meeting. David Stern, who is in charge of the conference, said:

We will send out our schedule to all registrants.
The GSA preliminary schedule is available along with a lot of other information on their website. We (The Society) will again send a link to the GSA website (http://www.geron.org/Annual%20Meeting) and also a link to the preliminary schedule.
