The Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps wish that Al Gore could get global warming to step it up a bit because it is freezing in DC this week. It is colder than Ann Coulter stamping passports at the Mexican border!

Hah - Ann Coulter LOVES people at the border with passports! It's the ones climbing the fence with drugs that she doesn't like. I think you're thinking of Pat Buchanan. :)

Ouch...I think I am going to have to use a modified version of that as a joke to tell my friends. Go Cap Steps!

Same to you. I count "Danny's First Noel", "All I Got for Christmas was a Tax Increase", "O Christmas Bush", and now also "Baracking Around the Christmas Tree" among my holiday favorites, right up there with the Bob Rivers "Twisted Christmas" series.

The Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps wonder what gives? Days after calling Wall Street bankers "fat cats" President Obama invites them for lunch - let's hope Cat Chow was served. The result? The Obama Administration changes tax rules to let Citigroup protect $38 billion from taxes! Taxes that are supposed to pay us back for bailing them out. HUH?

The Capitol Steps remember the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It was the worst thing to happen to Pearl Harbor until Ben Affleck.

What about Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr, Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, and Donna Reed? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045793/ At least their movie is one I've actually seen!

The Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps debut a couple new songs this weekend. "Lie of the Tiger" to the Survivor classic "Eye of the Tiger" - we couldn't resist because this story has become HUGE! And "It's Your Party and We'll Crash If We Want To" - thanks for Roxie for the idea - featuring the increasingly investigated Salahis.

The Capitol Steps Obama + black tie affair = crashers. Tiger + affair = black-Thai crash. So do you think Tiger is worthy of a song? Perhaps a lirty line or two? Or should we let the poor guy slide?

The Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps learned that Michelle Obama's dress that she wore to the State dinner for the Indian Prime Minister took 40 people more than 4 weeks to complete. Since an Indian seamstress is paid about 15 cents an hour, that dress cost nearly $100! Did she check TJ Maxx first?

Yet another possible job outsourced to India.

The Capitol Steps like all the attention being given to the phony couple who crashed the White House State dinner. But Joe Biden and his wife insist they were invited.

Sadly, Amazon is only selling the new album as mp3 downloads. I wanted a cd so I left it off my larger Amazon order. Maybe for next year's visit to the U.S. (international shipping is silly for one small item.).

The Capitol Steps love a good political cartoon - especially when it mixes politics and sports. By they way, does anybody REALLY believe Pres. Obama didn't watch any election results?

The Capitol Steps recorded their Halloween edition of Politics Takes a Holiday this weekend. Check your NPR station to see if they are carrying it. If not, you can visit our website after Nov. 1st and listen online. Sorry for the previous message which would have required a tear in the space-time continuum to hear the show.

The Capitol Steps applaude the Pay Czar's efforts to cut the compensation of executives of taxpayer-owned companies. They've received billions of our dollars and have given us little in return. Hmmmm....sounds like he should do the same Congressional pay!!!

The only difference is the government run businesses used to be private and their fortunes are now determined by the people who won't hesitate to give themselves raises in the dead of night to hide their evil deeds.

How about a "Cash for Crooks" program? It works like this: Pay Czar takes money from execs on the taxpayer dole and pays the taxes of Obama and congressional tax cheats such as Geitner, Rangel, etal.
