No false nails for me, I love just sitting down and play. To have to go and put on nails first just sounds like extra work

Thank, Andre! It was a great concert, and I think you could tell by my piece how much I enjoyed it.

The Classical Guitar Blog I'm getting a new guitar this friday. Do you folks have any methods for testing out new instruments? Any pieces you play to make sure it's a fine instrument? Thanks! -Chris

I play something that involves the B and G strings up on the higher frets - 8th to 10th (often a weak spot) - and listen for the tone and balance with lower octaves. Also, I listen for notes that boom out above others on the 5th and 6th strings and do the same w/ the higher 1st string notes up to B. And, of course, I play something familiar to see if I subjectively like the tone, feel and other qualities.
