Looking for a way to “jump start” your fall? Do some of your ringers need a refresher course on ringing skills? Do you wish that your ringers could experience the same opportunity for learning you had at the Directors’ Seminar? Or maybe you’ve just noticed that you can say/teach something to ringers over and over wi...th little effect, but when they hear it from someone else, they realize that you’ve been right all along… All of these are great reasons for you and your choir to attend the Detroit Handbell Ensemble’s Technique Workshop! The Detroit Handbell Ensemble All auditionees will ring as a group, sight reading a variety of repertoire at several different ringing positions.
Time:7:00PM Tuesday, September 15th
Location:First Presbyterian Church - Dearborn
The Detroit Handbell Ensemble
The individual audition will last approximately 15 to 20 minutes and will consist of the following:
- Short written test to measure recognition and knowledge of handbell terminology and notation
- Brief interview
- Sight "ringing"
- Skills demonstration, including clapping different rhythms and meters; weaving; multiple treble bells techniques (if applicable); and bass bell ringing (if applicable)

The Detroit Handbell Ensemble Ringers are not judged during this evening of ringing. This is purely a time to break the ice, meet each other, have some fun ringing and for those who perhaps have not been ringing over the summer, an opportunity to get back into the swing (ring?) of things!
