Introducing a group of highly motivated music lovers known as The Echoes; comprising of Andy Siti, Christina, Siva, Ucop and Fahmi.
The band is the brainchild of both Andy and Christina. The motivation to start the band was when they were on the way to Ipoh for a jazz performance. They cite Prof Madya Razif Mohd, also known as Jeep, their Jazz Band Conductor and the most distinguished jazz icon in Penang as their inspiration, alongside with tunes by Mia Palencia, Estrella and Jason Mraz. These two friends have been practically playing music together for almost 2 years.
As faith would have it, vocalist Andy Siti suggested that they form a side project and thus, The Echoes were born, or shall we say constructed. Since then, Christina (on ukulele and guitar), Siva (drums and conga), Ucop (keyboard, saxophone and flute), and Fahmi (bass and guitar) have been practicing together and there’s definitely a lot of chemistry between them. ♥
Called The Echoes, which means the reflection of sound waves, they imagine sound waves as obstacles and daily experiences, thus, reflecting all these through their songs.
As they desire to contribute exciting echoes in the music industry, the quintet is working on composing their own songs and melodies (but in the meantime doing song covers) because they are enthuse by their personal principle of sharing the love -- “For the love of music”. Their music genre are of jazz fusion and a little bit of folk.
They hope their music will bring them closer to the people who share the same passion as them :)
