'The Excellently Cool Show' began in 2002 on Keele University's radio station, KUBE Radio. The main show hosts were Daniel 'Excellent' O'Connor and Andy 'Cool' Simpson. Jon Reddihough also joined the show from 2004-2005. In 2005 'The Excellently Cool Show' was awarded the 'Best Daytime Show' by KUBE Radio.
From 2005-2006 'The Excellently Cool Show' was rebranded and returned to the airwaves on 1449AM URB at The University of Bath. The show was now hosted by Daniel O'Connor with occasional URB guest presenters. The rebranding was a success and the show gained a record number of listeners.
In 2008, after a two year break, 'The Excellently Cool Show' completed the hat-trick by broadcasting on its third radio station, Pure FM at the University of Portsmouth. The show continued to be hosted by Daniel O'Connor who won the Pure FM 'Best Male Presenter' award as well as awards for 'Best Feature' for the Two Minute Campus Challenge and 'Best Daytime Show'.
The show is now on Express FM, Thursdays at 12 noon.
