Sexism and the City

Sexism and the City
Fawcett is shining a spotlight on one ‘square mile’ of the United Kingdom to expose the reality of women’s lives in workplaces up and down the country.

Seeing Double

Seeing Double
Fawcett's working for women in all their diversity. Find out what we're doing for ethnic minority women who face multiple discrimination.

Equal pay

Equal pay campaign
Nearly 40 years since the Equal Pay Act of 1970, women working full time across the UK still earn on average 17% less an hour than men working full time.

Keeping Mum

Keeping Mum
Having a baby in the UK puts women in danger of losing their job, moving into low-paid work and getting into debt. Join our campaign to end mother and child poverty.

femocracy

femocracy
femocracy is Fawcett’s exciting new campaign working directly with ethnic minority women on political empowerment.

Justice for rape victims

Justice for rape victims
Every 34 minutes a rape is reported to the police in the UK. Fawcett campaigns for greater access to services and justice for rape victims.

There’s now just a month to go until
Equal Pay Day 2009. In the run-up to 30th October individuals and
groups across the country will be taking action to mark the day that
women effectively receive their last pay cheque of the year. This is
because the 17.1% full-time gender pay gap is equivalent to men being
paid all year ...round while women work for free after 30th October. Equal
Pay Day 2009 is calling on the Government to get tough on pay
inequality in the UK.

Keep up to date with EPD activities across the country - visit our blog at http://equalpayday.wordpress.com/, and follow us on Twitter: www.twitter.com/fawcettsociety

The gender pay gap isn’t inevitable. Equal Pay Day 2009 is our opportunity to do something about it.
