He comments, "It was a rare treat to donate the use of my photograph, Forest Altar, to the Foundation for Photo/Art. Through the foundation, my wife and I have discovered an exciting new way to make a differenc...e with my work, and have found an inspiring new level of meaning about what fine photography can do for others. Our work is now more than just something nice to look at, it can now be used to help to heal people. This is a marvelously empowering enrichment of our creative lives. Thank you, Elaine Poggi, for your pioneering work in launching and guiding the foundation."

Contributing Photographer Greg Salvatori comments, ""I was fascinated from the first time I heard about Healing Photo Art. The beauty of the images Elaine can create matches the beauty of the concept behind the foundation. Contributing with a picture is a delicate way to cheer up a patient in hospital and help their da...y to be a better day."

Contributing Photographer Nancy Davis from Merrimac, Massachusetts comments,
"I am honored to be a member of the Foundation of Photo/Art for Hospitals. I am a strong humanitarian and healthcare worker and I enjoy photography as a hobby. In my 51yrs, caring for relatives, witnessing less than satisfactory clinical condi...tions..I was overwhelmed with excitement when I found this organization. Throughout the world, there are so many needs of humanity, and this I believe is so inspiring. To think that I might help "alleviate" someone's pain or anguish, as they are enduring their medical plight..may this bring them peace..or for a brief moment, take them away from reality and fill their heart with calm thoughts..hugs from a distance..for whoever shall see..I wish you peace, calm and renewed health.

Many thanks to Theresa Anne Vandermeer from Weaverville, North Carolina for her beautiful photo donation to the Contributing Photographers Program of the Foundation. www.tavpics.com
She comments, "I am a burn victim of 34 years now. I have had over 100 surgeries and have spent much time in the hospital receiving recons...tructive surgery. The hospital is not a place I desire to be at any point in my life. I just had another operation last week. What you are doing is wonderful! I wish there had been more cheerful things around when I was a child because my memories of the hospital are anything but cheerful. I am now a photographer and love finding beauty in people and everything around me. When I saw what you were doing it excited me, and I thought that it might be a way for me to help others have more positive experiences than I did. Thank you for what you are doing! I truly believe your efforts will make a positive impact on many lives."

Our talented Contributing Photographer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Jack Roper. www.jackroper.net.
He comments, "The reason I donated my images to the Foundation is because there is a need to have beautiful pictures in health care facilities. Often the patient has an unexpected change in their health condition. To hav...e a positive distraction such as a picture of a beautiful water fall on their wall is mentally refreshing. As a Registered Nurse in trauma and a professional photographer, I am able to get an inside look of what patients go through in their life. I recommend the Foundation as a tool to help those who inwardly are worried about what the next doctor visit will tell them. Pictures remove the sterile environment in hospitals and let them see a different world around them that encourages the heart."

The beautiful photo of Contributing Photographer Charles St. Charles from Cadillac, Michigan. www.NatureOfTheWild.com
He comments, "I chose to contribute an image to The Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals, Inc because I felt it was a wonderful opportunity to use my art to help bring peace and beauty to people at a t...ime when they might need it the most, but are least able to find it. Sometimes staying in a hospital or visiting a patient can involve unavoidable stress. I thought that if I could provide an opportunity for patients, visitors or staff to enjoy even a few moments of putting their attention on something beautiful then perhaps their day might be a little easier, or they might even see a different perspective on things. I'd like to think that at some point, someone who I'll never meet is helped in a small way by this image."
