Gwen Walcott But, it's a pipe dream! The 4th went in the toilet when George decreed the existant of DHS and their beloved TSA lapdog

The government doe browse Facebook or Myspace pages. They do not need to conduct searches really, for the most part most peoples profiles if they had anything incriminating would provide them with probable cause therefore making the search lawful IF they deemed a search needed. The more information we give the governm...ent about ourselves the more power we give them to govern us. We are raising a generation of people that are going to have no second thoughts about being part of an inevitable global government database. The government is a fan of Facebook and Myspace I am sure.Read More

Adam Jefferson Do you not realize the 4th amendment protects you from unlawful searches by the GOVERNMENT. When did the security at a concert become Government agents?

Mike Golenda Does anyone have any info on the Searches taking place at concerts. I saw Rob post below, and have been looking online for any info, thanks for any help.

Timothy Patrick Kinney There is an irony to becoming a fan of the amendment that hints towards a right of privacy via Facebook.

Am I the only person of the 14,309 fans of this amendment that has anything to post directly to this wall?! Well, here is what I have to say: This fundamental right is willfully violated at airports, concerts, amusement parks, and daily by police everywhere. We do not HAVE to submit to these searches and seizures. ...It is voluntary and we need to stop volunteering. There are limits to what is reasonable, and thank God those who wrote our Constitution understood that at the very least there should be a probable cause established before police stick their hands in your pant pockets. The law in California is now that they can go through the contents of your pockets as much as they please if they "suspect" you might have drugs or a weapon. Well, anything carried in a pocket "might" be drugs or a weapon, so this is a fairly unreasonable interpretation. However, it goes unchallenged because we let others interpret our rights for us. We the people ARE the final word on our own rights.Read More

Supreme Court Puts New Limits on Vehicle Searches
By DAVID STOUT
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday put new limits on the circumstances under which police officers who lack a search warrant can search a vehicle immediately after the arrest of a suspect.
Officers who lack a warrant may search the passe...nger compartment of a vehicle after an occupant is arrested only if it is reasonable to believe that the person arrested could still gain access to the vehicle, or if the vehicle contains evidence relevant to the arrest, the court said.
