The Furbelows are a south London band formed in 2007. Influences include booze, bullying and a classical education. The songs tend to revolve around disease, apocalypse, drugs, hedonism, Nazis and transvestism. Lead singer Alex sweats a lot.

In an alley alongside Dirty Dick's where we played last Friday, a stranger accosted me to say how much he enjoyed the set. He asked me to tell Alex that he was "the reincarnation of Jim Morrison and Elvis Presley, only fucked up".

Julian Collings Sir, from a stranger to a fan, you guys were the entertainment highlights of our evening. It was a joy to watch some kick-arse intelligent, away from the crowd rock music, and because of that, sir we plan on coming back for more.

We have a busy Halloween coming up: on Friday we're playing at Elysian Nights at Dirty Dick's on Bishopsgate, then on Saturday we are delighted to be performing at Stranger Than Parasdise at The Miller in London Bridge.

I learned last night that what actually happened was that one of the bouncers got up on stage and turned the guitar amp down. It was actually one of The Teeth who, outraged, then got up on stage and turned the amp back up again. The bouncer... then proceeded to try and strangle said Tooth. Quite what the sound man was doing through all of this, I do not know. He had been quite arsey all evening. Perhaps he had just gone home by this time...See More
