What's up with the deluge of announcements. That's a bit excessive.

"...the love of Christ controls us..." (cf. 2 Cor. 5:11-21). We want to get these gospel-saturated resources out to as many people as possible. Honestly, that's what's up with the deluge of announcements--that's what drives us in our use of facebook, twitter, etc.

Pastor David Stiles

Pastor David Stiles On the night (trick or treat) when it looked like people were out celebrating hell. We hit the streets and had opportunities to minister, instead of hiding in our church. We have a weekend of Renewal coming up. Praying for a great work of God.

Don't be offended by the truth. I think Michael Horton's point is that given our (US) worldwide influence, it's much more alarming. Also, it's a tragedy given our deep Christian roots to have drifted so far from a Christ centered Gospel. IMHO, I think the proper response is to do what the city of Ninevah did, repent in "sackcloth and ashes". If you love America, pray for her.

O! But the responsibility we have as Pastors, churches and Christians for where much has been given much is required. It will be more tolerable for Sodom... than for those who die with such saturation of the Word of God. I just glanced up and counted eight Bibles on my shelf alone... with all our Bibles we have no excuse to be Christless in our Christianity!!The rest of the world has an excuse... America has none.

If J.I. Packer is a what "failure" looks like, then all of us should be so fortunate! Maybe we could pray for failure such as his.
