Founded in 1968, The Hangovers are the subset of the Cornell University Glee Club, STILL the oldest student organization at Cornell. Formed with the purpose of exploring alternative forms of musical expression in addition to the traditional Glee Club repertoire, the Hangovers concentrate their efforts on contemporary a cappella.

Perhaps the question we receive most often on tours is, "How did you pick your (bizarre, stupid, inappropriate) name?" Well, if you are one of these inquisitive individuals, but have been too timid to approach us, read on...

While there are clearly implications of the consumption of alcoholic beverages in our name, as well as our album and concert titles, "The Hangovers" was not chosen solely for this reason. Indeed, the name was picked to create such a double entendre, as the founding members were mostly 5th year architects and engineers at Cornell. Hence, they were "hanging over." Pretty clever, huh?

Today, almost 40 years later, the Hangovers are still going strong, with talented young performers and an ever-growing wonderful group of fans at Cornell and abroad. (read less)
