The Highly Sensitive Person Publishing Company I always felt that I was different. I was self-conscious about this. NO more! I believe that being different is a good thing. What do you think?

It bothers me when people are apathetic and don't try. I'm not perfect, but I try to be. Is this a very HSP way to be?

I think so. I think we expect the rest of the world to be more sensitive and considerate because we tend to be. Even if someone could just admit to being apathetic about something, is in itself a very considerate thing to do.

I am interested in public speaking. For me to speak pubicly would be like facing and releasing a fear. I express my self well in a one one one conversation, However I become overwhelmed in a crowd of people..I also would like to learn the art of photography.I see beauty in the ordinary.Lights and shadows would be fascinating to learn..But my dream ... See Morejob would be to become a social worker. Not because it is a glamorous job. My motivation would be to help another through pain and suffering. But I am aware that I am sensitive And I often feel the pain of others very deeply. So I would like to leard about real true compassion

I have difficulty speaking in public. The best way I cope with this is that I focus on what I think my audience needs from me. I give my best and my attitude is whatever happens, happens.

I can relate to that. That's a bad habit that I have to break. I say to myself... "Today is a great day. I'm going to enjoy it without feeling guilty." LOL

I try to keep things in perspective. There are things I have control over and things I don't, and I always need to be aware of the difference. For instance, getting to an appointment on time: I can control when I leave my house in order to give myself enough time to get there, but I can't control traffic or transit delays. Also with people: I can't control how someone is going to respond to me, only how I interact with them.

Common sense keeps me out of trouble. There are consequences to our actions..But passion is also important..Sometimes the heart knows things the mind can not understand. There are times when it is wise to do something that makes no sense at all. Because the experience is worth the consequences,,All experiences help us grow...

We HSPs do have a strong sense of right and wrong. "There are times when it is wise to do something that makes no sense at all. Because the experience is worth the consequences,All experiences help us grow..." Susan...This was very well phrased indeed!!

I have a tendency to start projects and get distracted or disinterested, so to stay focused I will give myself a reward when I am finished. Nothing big just like watching TV or eating something I like or going to the store. I treat myself once I am finished.
