Yes, would love talk backs after one of your shows. Have been to the IRT many times, and never disappointed. All of your presentations are what theater is meant to be.
It doesn't get any better than IRT!

The production is FANTASTIC! The review was good, but this play is brilliant and terrifying. I had nightmares. It takes something really good to make that happen!

The Irish Repertory Theatre is the only year-round theatre company in New York City devoted to bringing Irish and Irish American works to the stage. Founded by Ciarán O'Reilly and Charlotte Moore, The Irish Repertory Theatre opened its doors in September 1988.

This afternoon, my wife and I went to see 'The Check is in the Mail', part of the New York International Fringe Festival. We paid $15.00 a seat plus a small service charge and donation to the festival. The play was extremely entertaining. I'm 59 and my wife 54 years old. Why should we be obliged to pay four and a half times that amount to watch theater at The Irish Rep? Don't even dare mention Broadway as a defense.

David, are you at all familiar with how much it costs to produce theatre in NYC? Rent or mortgage costs are astronomical, plus if you are an equity theatre like The Rep (unlike any shows in Fringe) you are required to pay your actors, designers and stage managers an actual living wage (which is the way it should be!). Throw in marketing, staff, insurance and upkeep, and you would be stunned how expensive it is.

Those actors you saw in The Check is in the Mail were doing that show for little or no money. Is that fair? Would you work for free?

The Irish Rep has what, 140 seats in there? Do you have any idea how thin that would make their profit margin on even a runaway hit? ... Read More

Seriously, The Irish Rep is one of the highest quality, least expensive theatre's in the city. I dare you to find another one (that doesn't take advantage of actors and designers working for free) that is cheaper.
