Thunderball is one of my favourite Bond films and coincidentally was released in my birth year, 1965, so I've always felt attached to it. Mind you, the first Bond film I ever saw was The Man With The Golden Gun, with which I also have an affinity despite the fact that it's usually near the bottom of most people's lists.
Anyway, I mentioned that the book is being pulped due to legal action by Ian Fleming Publications. While it will be re-published with the offending material removed, you can still find copies. I couldn't find any online retailer in the UK to order it from, especially since Amazon.co.uk decided to return all copies in stockfor pulping.

In my last message I mentioned that someone had written to me, concerned that Devil May care wouldn't be up to the standard of Ian Fleming and how he hadn't liked previous continuation authors much. My reply was that Sebastian Faulks was a renowned author and had adopted Ian Fleming's own working style to help him write as Flemingesque novel as possible.
Since then I received another email, this time from someone who does like the other continuation authors. While I wasn't trying to criticise them - apart from Fleming's books I have read Colonel Sun by Robert Markham (a pseudonym used by Kingsley Amis), so in no position to judge - I was merely trying to say that Faulks approached the book with the aim of approaching Fleming's style as closely as possible.
Anyway, that's all for now, I'll be in touch soon.
